UP DATE ,,,DMX Goes H.A.M. On Iyanla Vanzant, “She F— Up My Life” (2560 hits)
The full episode for DMX appearance on Iyanla Vanzant “Fix My Life” was aired last weekend and it was crazy.
DMX, dubbed one of the most troubled rapper in hip-hop history, told allhiphop that Iyanla Vanzant didn’t fix his life, but made it worse.
“DMX agreed to be a guest on ‘Iyanla: Fix My Life’ with the understanding that she would be helping his relationships with his 10 children,” DMZ said in a statement. “When he arrived for the taping, most of the content was focused on his struggles with drugs and poor parenting. Iyanla did not ‘fix’ DMX’s life just made his image worse, and does not have DMX’s personal written consent to use the footage.”
During the episode DMX reunited with his son Xavier, who asked the rapper to rebuild a relationship with his free from drugs.
But DMX refused, saying there shouldn’t be any condition in their relationship.
X would often barked at Iyanla Vanzant with a lot of expletives whenever she tries to mediate the tension between him and his son.
It was Great!! Iyanla is so motivational... Her first book written was "Interiors" its a motivational/autobiographical of her life... That would give you an idea of her obstals of living in the projects and young motherhood...
Did anyone hear whether DMX has Bipolor Disorder? I'm not sure if that was in the conversation because I didn't watch it, but I like DMX as a person. I think he's a sweet guy when he's not spacing out or having a Manic episode. I'm routing and praying for him as I am Halle, EL Debarge, and some others. May he be free of his "demons" soon in The Name of Jesus!
Jen, I was once told by a doctor that many successful people are bipolar and that there could be a downside to treating it because of diminished drive/creativity that makes the person successful.

Without treatment, one runs the risk of acting like DMX, Charlie Sheen, etc and so many others. People that suffer from Bipolar Disorder trick themselves into thinking they can control the Disorder when they are on their HIGH in the Manic state, but woe unto to them when the LOW comes and they hit rock bottom when the demon starts to talk to them about how bad they are. It's not anything to play with and no amount of creativity while in the Manic state is worth risking one's soul to be lost forever. You get what I mean, eh?
These people self medicate to keep from hearing those voices and seeing those visions; when they keep reappearing, they keep medicating more and more. It's sad, but medications do help to keep things at bay. Just last weekend I was waiting outside the hospital main entrance for my husband to pick me up after doing a grueling 12 hours night shift when I saw these two young dudes in hospital gowns and hospital pj's (one White pushing a Black dude in a wheel chair) coming to smoke. I though it was strange that they would be hospitalized being so young. I was going ask them what they were in the hospital. Then another young dude came walking up with a cigarette and lighter. I made the comment, "My you guys are rather young to be in the hospital." Just at that moment, he said they were all Bipolar. I figured that they were in for Mental Health, because most of these guys get nicotine fits and are allowed out to go smoke or they will drive the staff up the wall!
Anyway, I encouraged him to keep taking his meds and he was very grateful as well as thankful that I didn't stigmatize him. When they were leaving after they got their fix, he say bye nurse and thanks again. People who suffer with Bipolar Disorder have to take their meds and there aren't any two ways about it or they WILL self medicate with something.
Jen, as Irma said, I am bipolar, but mostly the manic side. I don't hear voices, it is more like an engine revving to high. The one medication that works for me is xanax, but I've been told it is not a drug to treat bipolar. I don't care if they say it is or it isn't, it works for me and helps me stay level. It's damn hard to get though because some people sell it on the street. That's one of the problems with the war on drugs, it keeps useful medication out of the hands of people that can actually benefit from them. I'm also told it's addictive, but for me it's not. Before I moved out here I had a script for 3/day, but I would as often as not take only 2/day.

It depends on the type ( I or II) of Bipolar Disorder one has. I'm not a Mental Health Nurse and its not my speciality although I have a great love for Psychiatric Nursing but somehow my path went towards Cardiac Nursing for which I love dearly. Having said that, one has to know what works for them but definitely anyone with a Mental Health Disorder should be encouraged to see a professional. There are alot of people incarcerated and or on drugs because of their untreated, non compliance, and ignorance of their mental health issues.

Jen, most mental heath professionals have not been too helpful in my experience. I do have a very good psychotherapist but she doesn't take medicare so I haven't seen her for a while. It gets expensive.

How unfortunate and I'm sorry that you feel that way as well as I'm sorry about your experience. However, the mind is truly a terrible thing to allow to go to waste--- When I was going through a bad situation in my early years, I sought help first through assistance from the Employee Assistance Prog. paid for by the place I worked at the time; I sought a private therapist when that ended. It was well worth it for me because I needed to take care of myself. When I suffered from PTSD with Panic Attacks, I sought help for that as well. I pay for what I need, but I realize not everyone can so I do empathize with people who can't. I hope Pres. Obama and his administration will hopefully address this issue of Mental Health services lack of coverage by Insurance companies.

No worries, but DMX does have issues and that is factual. Perhaps she shouldn't have stated it so but hey he has to know that's her style. If not, then oh well. I like DMX, but he needs to find a good Psychiatrists with a track record of helping patients to get better.
He says in the JET interview that he wasn't told his son would be there. And twice at the end of the program he tried to hug his son, who refused because the Father would not agree to the terms of the Son. So does the son really love his father? Didn't seem so to me. But DMX was obvious in his love for his son.

Thanks for the links for the bipolar channel. I also listened to lady's commentary about the Iyanla's show. I love this lady and she's telling the truth about the noise on Sunday's in NY. It seems to be the optimal day to do road work as opposed to the other days of the week. As the lady in the commentary clip stated below:

Although I still haven't watched the clip (because I can't bring myself to view it since I like DMX so much as a person) but I concur that from what Steve and what she's saying that he wasn't in any shape to be interviewed.
Whether it should have been aired or not, it was in fact. Iyanla wasn't hearing/seeing the man, she just jumped in with her own preconceptions. Then she babied the boy, again making a judgement between father and son. It wasn't right. The sad part of the performance was Iylanda, not DMX.

The reason for the break up between the two ladies - which was telecasted on Oprah Winfrey's last season... They each told each other their issues. Ms. Vanzant was a regular guest motivational speaker and would take questions from the Audiance where in Oprah told her that she would just sit back on her show and let Iyanla have the show. Well then her comes Dr. Phil and he starts guest appearances. Well Iyanla felt that she was good enough to have her own show and wanted Oprah to give her a shot. Oprah told her that she would think about it... So, Iyanla let the show and ABC had given her ... her own talk show. Well, that was short lived because Iyanla quit that and that's when she went down the spiral ladder. Her husband and she divorced, and her daughter died.... Iyanla lost everything!! After reaching high status....
So, Oprah decided now was the time to give her her chance... and she was confident that Iyanla could handle her show.
OWN wasn't doing well in the beginning.... And Oprah's board wanted to restructure the entire staff. That's why Gail left.... Rosie O'Donnell will be coming back with another talk show and I think Queen Latifah was offered a Talk Show.
OWN is finallly beginning to see profits... after considerable losses since it's conception...
Honestly I did not hear DMX mention anything about mental unstableness... HE did ADMIT that he was a vicious drug user.... He named off some stuff I have never heard of... coke, marijuana and Alcohol (his drug of choice).
He said that he has been a user for a very long time....
He also said that he struggles with his addictions... Iyanla asked him if he was high on the show and he said no.... BUT it's obvious he was under the influence of something!!!
I would further add, DMX has some serious dark issues... and that would leave to believe that he very much does have some mental imparity.... ((Ya'll gone make me lose my mind, up in here, up in here)) that's real... He's fried his brains on Crack, Coke, Weed, Rock Cocaine... and he said something else...
DMX didn't say he still uses coke/crack. He wasn't under it's influence during this interview, I would have recognized it. Nor alcohol, maybe weed,
