Microfilm Operator/Technician I (6270)
Under immediate supervision, the Microfilm Operator/Technician I directs, trains and assigns duties to staff in the overall function of imaging vital active and inactive university records for permanent recording and storage in Records Management. SIUE’s Records Management is the central storage unit for microfilmed and hard copy (archival) records of the University.
The Microfilm Operator will operate document imaging and peripheral equipment, conduct quality assurance of scanned images, and take appropriate steps to correct any error or misreads. He or she will prepare all types of documents for scanning and indexing in accordance with established procedures, and sort and file completed source documents or sheets after verification. Additionally, the Microfilm Operator will maintain logs and production records and complete simple reporting as needed.
The Microfilm Operator/Technician I may be assigned other related tasks in support of the department’s mission and goals.
This position is a current civil service vacancy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. This position will close to applicants at close of business, 4:30 pm CST, on the posting end date.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
There are no minimum qualifications for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Knowledge of document imaging equipment, terminology, and supplies.
-Knowledge of records management principles.
-Ability to maintain integrity of Records Management to comply with policies and procedures to insure record confidentiality and security.
-Ability to work effectively and efficiently with all University faculty, staff and students within the framework of a centralized records center.
