I went ahead and watched the rest of the show. I've got to say, Sharpton is my favorite commentator and he's doing a great job. Because even on an issue like gun control where I have a somewhat different view, I can respect his opinion, because of his presentation. Lawrence O'Donnell has lost my respect over the gun issue because of the way he ridicules the NRA. Disagreeing with the NRA is one thing, but they don't deserve ridicule. They are primarily an organization of sportsmen. I was a member of the NRA because I was a hunter, target shooter, and I had guns for home defense. I don't hunt anymore, nor done target shooting for many years (but I'd like to, it's just too much trouble here in CA), and my kids are all grown so I don't have to worry about home defense. I'm a pacifist, but won't turn the cheek to the point where I'd let someone kill me. So I support the right to have a gun in my home, a gun that I deem meets my requirements. I don't need an AR 15, or a 30 round clip, but I wouldn't mind a Browning Hi Power, with a 13 round clip. So if the proposed legislation in Congress includes a limit to 10 rounds, or bans guns such as the AR 15 with a 10 round magazine, or .22 rifles with higher capacity magazines, I'll have to join the NRA again. About .22 rifles. These often have high capacity magazines because they are often used for "plinking", informal target shooting, like at cans. In this kind of shooting it's desirable to load more rounds at one time. So I don't think you can ban high capacity magazines without reference to the caliber of the gun they're used in. A mass murderer is unlikely to do so with a .22 rifle. Well I didn't intend for this comment to be so much about guns. What I wanted to say is I would vote for Hillary in 2016, but probably not Biden. And I think she and Biden won't run against each other, and will come to an agreement on that and she'll be the one to run. I just can't see her and Biden going against each other. It would be too divisive and give the Republicans too much ammunition (there's that word again) to use in the general election.
